Editor: Barbara Hoover

Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree in French, with a double minor in Spanish and Secondary Education. She’s licensed to teach English as a Second Language as well as French. As a teacher, she used to love to break down language components to their most basic form and put everything back together for her students. Growing up in Europe, she speaks five languages and has traveled extensively.

After high school, she joined the U.S. Air Force, where she served for a few years before meeting her husband and building a family. She lives with him and their three kids in Arkansas. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, spending time with her family, and watching movies. She’s had a home with Hot Tree Editing for the past two years and loves her job. She graduated from college with honors and would probably be a professional student if such a job existed. When she’s not editing, she can be found being a substitute teacher.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in French & Double Minor in Spanish and Secondary Education

HTSP Director: Oliva Ventura

Olivia has been an avid reader since before she started school, and could often be found with a book in hand during lunchtime. Her love affair with interesting stories morphed quickly to a love for words in general, and although she told herself she was going to be sensible and practical and not work in the literary industry, eventually she gave in… and hasn’t looked back since.

Liv has worked in bookstores, as a recruiter, in resource management, business analysis, administrative management, and as a travel agent, as well as in the roles of beta reader, acquisitions editor, proofreader, editor, and managing editor. Three years ago she made her part-time editing job into a full-time career, and has never been happier.

Over the past ten years she’s edited for the Wild Rose Press, Sapphire Blue Publishing, Liquid Silver Books, Breathless Press, Dreamspinner Press, and of course the Hot Tree Group.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Business

Bachelor of Arts (Hon.)

Certificate IV Tourism

Editor: Randie Creamer

Randie’s love affair with books began when she read her first sci-fi novel, Star Trek, and became an unofficial Trekkie. Since then, she’s typically reading at least two different books at a given time, most often to the annoyance of her children when pesky things like laundry don’t get done.

After graduating college, she thought to try out working on Wall Street, but following stocks all day was beyond boring, so she went back to grad school and decided teaching high schoolers would be way more exciting. Strangely enough, being around teenagers all day sent her right back to her first love of reading and wanting to figure out how she could create a career by spending her days getting lost in someone else’s story. She luckily found Hot Tree and has been thrilled to finally figure out it was really books all along.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Art: Spanish

Masters in Teaching

Post Baccalaureate Certification: Editing

Graphic Designer: RMGraphX - Rhiannon M. Gilmore

Stuck in the dead center of California, Rhiannon M. Gilmore is an author and artist with a passion for the unique. In a market saturated with the same covers, with the same models, and little attention to detail, Rhiannon decided to bring a unique flair in design to others.

She also creates original artworks in various mediums including paint and clay. Her home is filled with eclectic music memorabilia, horror flicks, and droves of complete LEGO sets. Rhiannon shares a home with her husband, spawn, and more than thirty animals including a fat ass Labrador, frilled dragons, and gargoyle geckos.

When she's not insane with writing, designing, household junk, and animal care, she loves to watch movies, digs detective shows, and imbibes more alcohol more than one person should.

Rhiannon believes in working closely with the client to ensure designs are original, and she is dedicated to avoiding the conveyor belt of generic covers at all costs. She offers designs with fresh branding and 1-click pull.

Promotions Coordinator: Donna Pemberton

Books have always held a special place in Donna Pemberton’s heart. Whether she’s satisfying her curiosity with a biography, or she’s looking to escape in any one of the many sub-genres of romance, her life revolves around the written word.

When Donna was given the opportunity to beta read for Hot Tree Editing in 2014, she jumped at the chance to offer her support. Later that year, she cofounded Hot Tree Promotions, making it her mission to ensure authors receive the book love they deserve.

Since then, Donna has taken on the role of admin for Hot Tree Editing in addition to being a final-eyes reader. She is also the marketing and promotions coordinator for Hot Tree Publishing. She eats, breathes, sleeps, and dreams about all things Hot Tree, and she wouldn’t trade a single minute.

After a twelve-year vacation in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Donna returned home to southeastern Ohio to be closer to her family, where she currently resides with her hunky and always supportive guy and their nine-year-old happy-but-health-challenged fur baby.
